Mono screen printing involves applying or painting colour directly onto an open screen in order to create unique prints. For this special Valentine's workshop, you will be able to work alongside your partner to create a combined love heart print.
During this session, you will have full guidance from our technician into the process of Screen Printing using a prepared screen.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is wanting to start out in a new print technique or if you already have printing experience and would like to explore this fun approach to mono-printing. You will be able to receive plenty of advice and tips to suit your level of experience.
All the materials and equipment are provided during this workshop. You will have time to produce a sizable amount of prints.

What experience do I need?

This course is suitable for the beginner, however people with some screen printing experience may also enjoy and benefit from this alternate way of printing. The loose and abstract nature of mono screen printing can add an extra dimension to your practice.

What will I make?

You will make a collaborative heart shaped mono screen print image in multi-colours. Plus an individual print each. We’ll be working on A3 size paper, and there will be several different water based ink colours to choose from.

Who is my tutor?

Sophie McIntosh is the founder of Hey Ho Print Co. She has been printmaking for over 20 years and running the print studio for 7 years. She has taught Visual Communication at Kingston University and Leeds College of Art and Design.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials will be provided along with refreshments.

it is advised you wear old clothes or bring an apron if you wish.

If I can't attend can I get a refund?

We will refund you if you cancel no less than 14 days before the start of the first session of the course, after this time no refunds will be issued. By making a booking you are agreeing to our full course terms and conditions which can be found on our website.

What if the course is cancelled?

We reserve the right to cancel the course for any reason. We will endeavor to give at least 7 days notice if the course is cancelled and in the event of cancellation, we will, of course, issue you a full refund.

Accessibility

Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. Our studio is on the first floor of the building and is accessed by stairs. We currently do not have wheelchair access to our premises.

We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at studio@heyhoprint.co to discuss any concerns you may have before booking.

Please note: we regret that, for safety reasons, only those over the age of 16 will be permitted to undertake the course.
