Cost — £45 with all materials included

During this workshop you will create your own artwork that will be transferred to a block ready to print onto a table runner or Christmas stocking. You will learn all the skills needed to successfully carve, ink up and print your lino block onto a piece of beautiful natural linen.

Places are limited to a maximum of 4 people and is suitable for absolute beginners or those with intermediate experience.
All washed down with mulled wine and mince pies to get you in the most magical Christmas feeling.

What experience do I need?

This course is suitable for absolute beginners in both linocut and printing onto fabric, those with existing experience working with fabric will still benefit by exploring new ways of printing imagery onto cloth.

 

Who is my tutor?

Sophie McIntosh is the founder of Hey Ho Print Co. She has been printmaking for over 20 years and running the print studio for 9 years. She has taught at Kingston University and Leeds College of Art and Design. 

Do I need to bring anything?

Lino carving tools and printing inks will be provided, as well as any other tools and the stocking needed for the process.

Please bring along reference photos, sketches and ideas if you wish, and we will have examples of patterns and designs to help inspire you.

Covid Safety

Our workshops and courses look a little bit different as we ensure safe procedures are in place in light of Coronavirus. The changes we have made include;

  • Fewer participants to allow for social distancing
  • Requesting that students attend the workshop with a mask or face covering
  • Hand sanitiser provided on entry
  • Shared aprons will not be provided so please bring your own apron or wear old clothes to the workshop

If I can't attend can I get a refund?

We will refund you if you cancel no less than 14 days before the start of the first session of the course, after this time no refunds will be issued. By making a booking you are agreeing to our full course terms and conditions which can be found on our website.

What if the course is cancelled?

We reserve the right to cancel the course for any reason (for example, insufficient bookings). We will endeavour to give at least 7 days notice if the course is cancelled and in the event of cancellation we will, of course, issue you a full refund.

Accessibility

Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at hello@heyhoprintco.uk to discuss any concerns you may have before booking.

Please note: we regret that, for safety reasons, only those over the age of 16 will be permitted to undertake the course.
